FTS Technologies surface treatment technologies, such as ATmaP surface treatment, offer clients in the global plastics finishing industry the benefit of enhancing adhesion of coatings to polymeric substrates without the use of expense and environmentally damaging adhesion promoting primers and other related environmentally unfriendly processes. 

With the key components of adhesion promoting primers being CPO resins, which require a substantial amount of solvents to bring them to a sprayable viscosity (6.5lb to 7lb per gallon), and with solid contents of less that 10%, it is easy to see how a technology of this kind can raise many environmental concerns. Combined with the costs of handling the disposal and destruction of this technologies waste products, makes this technology not only environmentally unfriendly, but incredibly costly.

ATmaP® is an environmentally friendly process with no discharge of solvents (VOCs or HAP's), eliminating the need for expensive abatement systems, or alike. Capital and operational costs with the implementation of ATmaP surface treatment are a fraction of the cost when compared to current manufacturing processes. Emissions of solvents, use of natural gas, and dependence on government permitting, can all be substantially reduced.
